A doctor's profession is the noblest one and has been alive for several centuries. They are also one of the major contributors to the well being of the people in society. Therefore, employment is one factor, which you would think is not a very important matter since doctors are required in any case, and the more the better. However, before employing or seeking employment as a doctor you need to realize a few things.

But to be employed as a doctor there are several costs to bear such as the years of tedious studying, preparation, discipline and responsibility which comes along with the field.

The long hours of the profession as well as the fear of making a mistake or malpractice, which will not only damage your reputation, but may even hurt the patient irreparably, will also take its toll. Of course, the money is more than adequate, but it would be best not to concentrate on this factor, as your first responsibility will be towards your patients.

As for the money factor, doctors, make the most money among all the professions. However, the pay scale may depend on several factors such as the number of years of practice, the location of the practice, the hours put in and also the reputation. Also, specialists tend to make more money then general practitioners.

The number of physician jobs is expected to grow more than the average for all other occupations through the year 2014, because of the innovations and technological advancements that are allowing doctors to treat more problems. The mortality rate has now decreased and people are living for longer and therefore requiring more health care. Job opportunities are particularly found in rural and low-income areas since they do not have enough doctors.
